Thad Povey is a filmmaker, musician, songwriter and instrument builder living in San Francisco. He is the founder of The Scratch Film Junkies (a celluloidal quilting bee), The Overdub Club (a live film & music performance group), the Goat Family (a romping, stomping jug band) and the Bare Tree Duo (a guitar and violin duet project). A new album called Bare Tree Duo was released in June of 2022. His shop Shotwell Instrument Care and Construction is now open for stringed instrument repairs.
