The Overdub Club
The Overdub Club is a collaborative group involving two filmmakers and a group of musicians/composers. I have worked with fellow filmmaker Alfonso Alvarez since the late 1980's and, although we utilize digital and video methods, we work primarily with traditional filmmaking tools and projection. Sonics are orchestrated by long-time collaborator Lucio Menegon (the Reverend Screaming Fingers) on guitar.
Current TV did a piece on San Francisco's Other Cinema and an Overdub Club performance from Fall 2006 is featured. If you've never been inside OC or seen a Club show, check out Robbyn Leonard's piece at

Nightsoil
2002, 15 min, 16mm live performance
Nightsoil is a 16mm multi-projector and musical performance piece. The visuals come from a wide range of sources including newsreels, industrial films and cult feature films. These images have been hand-manipulated by contact printing, ray-o-gram, hand-processing and toning for a kaleidoscope of colors and effects. The music is structured around original music by Lucio Menegon and Suki O'Kane plus a collaborative "musique concrete" section that incorporates the audio from the 16mm projectors.
The clip is from a 2002 performance at Bay Area Now 3 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco. Other performances include The Sundance International Film Festival, The Other Cinema, and The Red Victorian Movie House.
